Tabitha’s Closet

Tabitha’s Closet

During the current COVID-19 outbreak that has overtaken the country, we have decided to suspend Tabitha’s Closet. Following the guidelines established by the CDC (Link HERE), we felt that the best way to avoid potentially spreading COVID-19 among our members and the community that we serve would be to close our doors for an extended period of time. We will suspend Tabitha’s closet until Thursday, April 16th, and will reevaluate this closure on an ongoing basis as we find out more.

In addition, we will not be accepting any clothing or other donations during this period of time. If you have something to donate we would ask that you either hold onto it or find another organization willing to take it. We do not have facilities to store donations and would unfortunately have to dispose of them.

We will continue to pray for those that are in need. If you have special circumstances and would like to contact us regarding those, please call (308) 384-2613.

Tabitha’s Closet is a clothing giveaway that has been ongoing since 2012 and also includes a small food pantry. The clothing giveaway is entirely dependent on clothing donations from the community and is a labor of love performed by our members. There is absolutely no cost to those that are in need.

“We try to look like Christ to this community and that people can see Christ in this church and the lives of our members.” – Mike Reeves

The clothing distribution is open to everyone in the community. People can come to the church, whether they are members or not, and get clothes for their families and themselves with no questions asked and no qualifying paperwork to fill out.

Once a year, we also participate in Project Homeless Connect, which is a one-day, one-stop event where homeless or near-homeless people can receive a wide variety of immediate, on-site services and support.
